By approximately 1994, my back was about
worn out, and my Chiropractor suggested that I discontinue digging.
At this time I would eat breakfast almost every morning at the “12th
Ave. Café” in Issaquah. Juan was a bus boy there and I had got to
know him fairly well over a couple month period of time. He had a
great attitude and was a hard worker, so I asked him if he would be
interested in working for me. He said he was very much interested,
and within a couple of weeks he started at Alpine Sprinkler. Shortly
thereafter, I asked him if he had any friends that were good workers
like him. To make a long story short, I hired 3 of his brothers. All
four of these young men have been with me ever since.
Hardly a job goes by that the customer will not spend several minutes telling me what a great job my crew did and how hard they worked and how neat the installation was. Now my job is driving around giving estimates, getting the jobs started, and going over the finished job with the customers.
