Here's what's new with my program of installations:
Drawings: "As Built" drawing of the sprinkler design will be given to each customer at the completion of the job. We will do the drawing of the property with the proposed design at the time of the estimate. This sets us apart from 99.99% of other companies that come out to give bids.
I will be using "Dura" name brand manifold Tees and Ellbows
for the connection of the electric valves to the main line.
These fittings provide unions to the electric valves so that if a
valve ever needs to be removed and replaced it is quick, easy, and
requires no cutting of the pipe. These Dura tees and ellbows
make a water tight connection with an O-Ring inside the union- just
hand tighten snuggly and it's sealed.
Our biggest change is that we are using Weathermatic Smartline controllers with the option of an on site weather station. Weathermatic has been of the leading edge of this new water conservation technology for several years and have a track record of performance. The controller has options in it that no other name brand controller has. It has a valve locator feature that makes any control valve chatter so that if it is buried you can find it. It also has a voltage meter that lets you know if any of the electric valves are about to fail. The back up battery's current charge is also displayed. The optional weather station is programmed according to you zip code, soil types, slopes, sprinkler head types, shady or sunny areas. The weather station monitors and adjusts the timer daily to adjust the watering times for each zone to give the correct amount of water. The result is a huge savings in water consumption and a huge savings in your water bill. Several water districts offer a rebate program for the installation of these systems. You can Google Weathermatic Smartline to gather more information on this. This is another change in our program that will sets us apart from the competition.
I am using a sod cutter and a very small mini excavator to
do most of the open trenching in peoples yards that we used to do by
hand.. Results in faster installation, lower bids with out
compromising the quality, and deeper trenches. Clean up is
flawless because of the precise cuts of the sod cutter.
